2.Small Parcel Surcharge – Policy Summary
Effective: 1 November 2026 (EU local time)
Applies to: Remote-sale orders shipped from outside the EU to consumers in the 27 EU Member States.
What it is: From 1 November 2026, the EU charges a EUR 2 Union Handling Fee per customs declaration item. This is in addition to the existing EUR 3 temporary flat duty per declaration item on goods valued at EUR 150 or less. The combined EUR 5 is the statutory import cost covered by our Small Parcel Surcharge. It is not a shipping or service fee set by us, and it does not include VAT.
How it is calculated: The fee is charged per declaration item, not per physical unit. Items with the same HS code, same description and same origin count as one declaration item. Different HS codes count separately. For example: 3 identical products = 1 item = EUR 5; 2 different HS-code products = 2 items = EUR 10. The checkout page shows the applicable surcharge before you confirm payment.
Non-refundable: Once incurred, the EUR 5 surcharge is not refunded, even if the goods are returned or found defective. Our return/refund policy covers the goods price only, not this statutory import cost.
VAT: VAT is calculated separately at the applicable rate and shown separately at checkout.
Timing: The charge applies based on when EU customs accepts the import declaration, not when the order is placed. Orders placed before 1 November 2026 but cleared on or after that date may still be charged.
Scope: This surcharge applies only to products expressly marked as including the EU small parcel surcharge, or where the item is shown separately at checkout. Products not so marked are not subject to this surcharge.
