I purchased the cherry colored easel and glad I did because it’s so attractive. It will be a please to put my canvas on and paint. It folds up very nice into a briefcase unit.

I have been getting back to painting again after a long hiatus. Having an easel that I can set up outside or inside in my shed is a must. I wanted to have one in the house as well when my endless remodel is up too. This easel is going to be inside.HOW THIS COMESThis comes in a box pretty well insulated against damage.ANY WARPING?I have another easel I have had for some years, but I had the worst time getting it. the legs were warped, the other parts were so frustrating that I had to return it several times before I found an acceptable one. This easel is much nicer, I say with excitement. The wood is great, the legs are not warped and all of the wood seems to be well put together.QUALITYThe quality of the wood and the components that make this are much nicer than my other easel I had for a while too. It is a step above the other easel components and I feel like I have a really nice easel here, instead of a budget version.PERFORMANCEI love how this easel sets up. It has a nice layout of the components and each part of it locks into place securely. I can put it on uneven ground, even floor, or even a slick granite floor. I can also use this as a table easel if I like. I can use a small canvas, but I like this best for medium to larger canvases or paper pads.DRAWERThis drawer is nice. You can shift the dividers around to keep the paints and brushes, etc separated.PALETTEThis comes with a wooden palette for oils. If I use this for acrylics, I put a disposable pad instead.WHY I CALL THIS THE RAINMAKERNo matter when I set this up, it starts raining. I have set this up many times to take photos for you and this easel would start to be set up and it would start raining. I finally set this up and was able to take a quick photo for you before the pouring started. It does hold up well when gently wet. I would not recommend it being out in the rain, but it does repel basic water droplets.THE BOTTOM LINEThis is a really nice easel. It is water repellent to a light rain, it sets up on even or uneven ground and the quality of materials and components is solid. I like this a LOT.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. This is the nicest easel I have. I really love it and will be using this all winter when the harvest is done. So far I love that I can adapt it to chair, standing, and even table.

I’ve wanted a French easel for such a long time, I’m so happy I got this one. The wood is gorgeous. It is well made and is simply exactly what is says it is.It’s good for plein air painting, painting indoors, or as a table top easel.It comes with an pallet and carrying strap, however I find it too heavy to carry it by that strap, I’ll use the handle. The compartments inside are adjustable, to an extent, you can take the partitions out to make the compartments larger.I did find it very hard to figure out how to telescope the legs to open as an easel, and I found it difficult to take it down. Also, my brushes with the thinest handles can come partially out the bottom when closed. Maybe I did someth8ing wrong, but I’ll have to figure out how to fix that.Mine did not come with directions on how to set it up and take it down. I had to look it up on the internet.Most of the bolts are loose when you get it, one of mine had come off in the box, but that was an easy fix. I can’t even remember which one it was.I love this easel, it makes me want to paint!But I would look up instructions about it before trying to set it up.I don't think the cons are so bad that I'd take off a star.I think most of it is down to just learning how to work this easel.It's a bit more complicated that a regular easel, but I think it's worth it.
